English Language requirements

You must prove your language skills by taking an approved language test.

To do this - you must:

- schedule your test with an agency approved by IRCC and pay the costs

- enter the test results into your Express Entry profile (and the Personal Information Number, if the system asks for it)

- include the results with your application if you are invited to apply. If you don’t include it, your application will not process .

- Send your language test results with your complete application. Keep your original test in a safe place as the Canada government officials may ask for it later.

You can take any of these approved language tests:

Integrity concerns with respect to language test results for Canadian experience class, federal skilled workers class, federal skilled trades class, caring for children class, caring for people with high medical needs class, and Immigrant Investor Venture Capital class

If Canada government officers have concerns about the integrity of the language test results, the following options are available:

Option 1: accept
If the officer has verified the test scores and the integrity of the testing procedures with the local testing centre for the case in question and is satisfied that there is no fraud or malfeasance with respect to testing procedures or results, then the officer will accept the test scores.

Option 2: refuse
If the officer is satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to establish fraud or malfeasance with respect to testing procedures or results, then the officer will refuse the application for misrepresentation.
